After seeing the daily meals of an average Russian family, I finally understand why they look so tough
A friend of mine, who is in business in Russia, told me that the Russian diet can be summarised by 2one characteristic: firstly, they like to eat meat, secondly, they like to eat sugar, and they like to eat too much of it. High sugar and a lot of meat, when eaten over a long period of time, will lead to an excess of nutrients, which will naturally lead to obesity.
Breakfast: bread + pancakes + jam + porridge
This is a classic Russian combination of bread and ham, omelettes and porridge. There are many different types of porridge, such as buckwheat, yellow rice and broken wheat, depending on your preference.
Among the traditional Russian breakfasts, pancakes are the most marketable and as they say locally, "There is no Russian who doesn't love pancakes!" The pancakes are served with jam for a high-calorie breakfast that is filling and tasty, or if you are eating porridge, a little butter can be delicious.
Lunch: vegetable soup + hot + sweet
For lunch, there is usually a vegetable soup, either beet soup or cabbage soup. In addition to the soup, there is always a hot dish with meat, among which fish, beef, lamb, lamb chops and meatballs are all available.
Of course there is a need for a sweet treat at the end, such as a sweet snack, sweet fruit tea, coffee, etc. This is basically the standard for lunch, even if you eat in a restaurant, it's the same combination, just with a different choice of ingredients and more fancy, essentially the same ones.
Dinner: meatloaf + fried potatoes + roast chicken
The Russian dinner, which is also very high in calories, has the highest exit rate with various meat pies, which are then served with their favourite potatoes, this can be mashed, fried or boiled potatoes, etc. Besides these, there are also roast chicken and salads, which are also more common ingredients.
Dinner is in fact a rather casual affair and varies from family to family, but meat and potatoes still occupy most people's tables.
After looking at the average Russian family's daily meals, you should now finally understand why they look so swarthy! The high sugar and calorie content of their food naturally makes them grow bigger, but of course this is not unrelated to the local climate. Please feel free to discuss in the comments.
